About the job

Zetech University is looking for a Dean to lead its School of Business and Economics on a three-year renewable term, as permanent academic staff. Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics, the Dean will lead curriculum review, raise teaching and research quality, grow enrolment and income and build partnerships with industry. The university asks for a clear turnaround plan for the school, so experience of managing budgets and change is valued.

Key responsibilities

Lead curriculum review and programme development
Prepare and deliver a turnaround plan for the school
Manage the school budget and grow enrolment and income
Build research and industry partnerships
Set staff targets and lead staff development

Qualifications

Earned PhD in Business or a related field
Senior Lecturer rank, or six years post-PhD with five in senior management
Record of research funding, publications and postgraduate supervision
Knowledge of Kenya's higher education regulations
Active professional body membership
