Nembu Primary School

Nembu Primary School is a public mixed day primary school in Dagoretti South, located at Muthama, off Kikuyu Road. It appears on the Nairobi City County list of public primary schools and is run under the county and the Ministry of Education, with teachers posted by the Teachers Service Commission. The school follows the Competency-Based Curriculum, with pre-primary classes and Grades 1 to 6, and it is listed among Dagoretti schools hosting a junior school section for Grades 7 to 9. An older Ministry of Education record counted about 1,164 pupils in 23 classrooms, so it is a sizeable neighbourhood school. It gave rise to Nembu secondary school, which began in 1982 as an offshoot of the primary school and is now a girls' boarding school. Most of its learners come from the surrounding estates and villages.
