Flight Training Centre – Nyaribo Airstrip base

Flight Training Centre (FTC) is a KCAA-approved flying school based at Wilson Airport in Nairobi with a second training base at Nyaribo Airstrip near Nyeri town. FTC opened its Nyeri operation in 2018, bringing the long-unused airstrip back into use for training because the quiet airspace lets students spend more time flying and less time waiting for take-off. The KCAA list of approved training organisations names Wilson Airport and Nyaribo Airstrip among FTC's locations and approves it for the private and commercial pilot licences, the airline transport pilot licence, multi-engine and instrument ratings and the flight instructor rating. Press reports name Captain Godwin Wachira as managing director. Ground school is held in Nairobi; ask the school how much of the flying is currently done at Nyaribo.
