About this scholarship
The DAAD In-Country/In-Region programme pays for master's study at selected African universities. For the 2027 intake two Kenyan courses are funded: the Master of Education in Research at Moi University and the Master of Science in Plant Breeding at Chuka University. Kenyan graduates apply both to DAAD through its portal and to the university for admission. The DAAD deadline is 12 November 2026, so applicants should act now. Scholarships normally start in the second half of 2027 and can last up to 24 months, with funding after the first year depending on academic progress.

Who can apply
- National or permanent resident of a sub-Saharan African country
- Bachelor's degree, at least Second Class Upper or equivalent
- Last degree completed within the past six years
- Good command of English
