Pharo School Nairobi

Pharo School Nairobi began life in 1996 as Tender Care Junior Academy, a school started by local educators in Komarock. In November 2023 it was taken over by the Pharo Foundation, a non-profit that runs schools in East Africa, and renamed. The school now works from several campuses in Komarock, including a new two-storey building in Komarock Phase 4, plus one in neighbouring Umoja. Enrolment grew from about 1,730 learners in 2024 to more than 1,850 in 2025, taught by over 60 teachers. It follows the Competency Based Curriculum with extra weight on English, mathematics, science and ICT, and has added science laboratories, an ICT hub, coding and robotics clubs, culinary arts, football and basketball. A healthy snack programme and help with stationery keep costs down for families. It aims to be an affordable private option for Eastlands.
