About
Diakonia Training Institute is a private TVET college based in Shalom House on St. Daniel Comboni Road, off Ngong Road near Dagoretti Corner. Shalom House belongs to the Koinonia Community, which lists the institute among its works. Its motto is "Ili wapate elimu" (so that they may get an education). The college offers short courses and certificate and diploma programmes in business, ICT, hospitality, social sciences and cosmetology. Short courses include ICDL digital skills and bakery and pastry, and it teaches French, English, German and Swahili in three-month language classes. Food and beverage training is run with NITA. TVETA lists the institute as registered and licensed for a KNEC Diploma in Information Communication Technology and the KASNEB Accounting and Management Skills certificate. It takes full-time students and working adults, with classes from Monday to Saturday.
