The Kenya School of Government is the state training institution for Kenya's public service, and its Lower Kabete campus in Nairobi is the school's home base. It succeeded the former Kenya Institute of Administration and works under the Kenya School of Government Act of 2012. The school trains public servants and others in leadership, management, governance and public policy, and also does research, consultancy and policy advisory work. Programmes are listed each year in a published prospectus and range from short professional courses to longer management and leadership programmes. Besides Lower Kabete, the school runs campuses in Baringo, Embu, Matuga and Mombasa, and an e-learning arm (eLITI) for online courses. The Lower Kabete campus also offers conference facilities and accommodation for course participants.
