About the job

Chantilly Schools in Banana, Kiambu County, is hiring a lower primary teacher. The teacher will plan and teach learner-centred lessons under the competency-based curriculum, prepare schemes of work and teaching aids, assess learners and keep parents informed of progress. Each teacher also takes a class, looking after attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, and supports children who need extra help or more challenge.

Key responsibilities

Plan and teach CBE lessons across assigned subjects
Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching aids
Assess learners and give feedback to learners and parents
Support learners with different needs
Serve as class teacher and join co-curricular activities

Qualifications

P1 certificate or Diploma in Primary Teacher Education recognised by TSC
Registered with TSC with a valid TSC number
Training in the competency-based curriculum (CBC / CBE)
Extra training in special needs, counselling, safeguarding or education technology is an advantage
