Beautex Technical Training College

Beautex Technical Training College is a small private beauty and ICT college in Utawala, housed in the Geokarma Building just behind the Astrol petrol station on the Eastern Bypass. It is a young institution led by its founder and principal, Linet Kariuki, and was entered on the TVET Authority register in 2026 as a technical and vocational college. Training is split into three departments: beauty and cosmetology, hair and barbering, and computing. Longer courses include diplomas in beauty therapy and hairdressing (about six months) and in cosmetology (about ten months). Short courses run from one to two months and cover barbering, nail technology, make-up, hairdressing, sister locks, dreadlocks and wig installation. On the computer side, learners can take computer packages, website development or cyber security at certificate or diploma level, from six weeks to three months. The college takes intakes in January, May and September; a KCSE mean grade of D+ is asked for certificate courses and C for diplomas.
