About
The Africa Film and Television Training Institute (AFTTTI) works from the third floor of Ambar House on Baricho Road, on the Industrial Area side of the city. It is accredited by TVETA and is an approved centre of the Institute of Commercial Management (UK), and it has been training people for the film, television and radio industry for more than ten years. Programmes include TV and film production (directing, cinematography, editing), acting for film, TV and theatre, animation and visual effects, radio production and podcasting, and music and artist development, mostly offered at certificate and 18-month diploma level, plus a short course in AI and machine learning. Classes are small, typically 15 to 30 students, and learning is project-based so that graduates leave with a portfolio. Industry professionals mentor students and the institute runs talent showcases.
